Water bottles aren’t easy to make. It requires a specific machine, called a blow moulding machine. This machine is used to form liquid plastic into the bottles we drink out of every day. Let’s find out how this machine operates and why we need it to make those water bottles we drink from.
The production of water bottles begins with a substance called plastic resin. This resin is then heated until it is in a liquid form. It is then poured into a mould, the size and shape of a water bottle. The mould is sealed and liquid plastic is injected into the air. This causes the plastic to expand to the shape of the mould. When the heated plastic cools to solidify, the mould opens and boom, a new water bottle!
