There are many things to pay attention to in the production of junction box molds, including design, processing, material selection, surface treatment, etc. The following are specific contents:
mould design
1.Product analysis: Gain a deep understanding of the structure, dimensional accuracy requirements, appearance requirements, and production batch size of the junction box. For example, for junction boxes with special installation requirements, it is necessary to ensure that the mold design can meet their assembly accuracy.
2.Design of parting surface: Reasonable selection of parting surface should not only facilitate mold processing and part demolding, but also ensure the appearance quality of the junction box and avoid leaving parting line marks on the surface.
3.Pouring system design: Based on the shape, size, and material characteristics of the junction box, design a suitable pouring system, such as selecting appropriate gate positions and quantities, to ensure that the plastic melt can evenly and quickly fill the mold cavity, reducing defects such as weld lines.
4.Cooling system design: Design an efficient cooling system to evenly cool the mold during the injection molding process, shorten the molding cycle, and improve production efficiency. The layout of the cooling water channel should be optimized based on the wall thickness distribution and shape of the junction box to avoid deformation caused by uneven cooling.

Mold processing
1.Accuracy control: During the mold processing, it is necessary to strictly control the dimensional accuracy and positional tolerances of each part. For example, the dimensional accuracy of the cavity and core should be controlled within ± 0.05mm, and the surface roughness should reach Ra0.8-Ra1.6 μ m to ensure the dimensional accuracy and appearance quality of the junction box.
2.Process selection: Based on the structure and material of the mold, choose the appropriate processing technology, such as CNC milling, electrical discharge machining, wire cutting, etc. For some complex shapes and structures, a combination of multiple processing techniques may be required to ensure processing quality and efficiency.
3.Electrode machining: If electric discharge machining is used, the machining accuracy and quality of the electrode have a significant impact on the final accuracy of the mold. To ensure the dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the electrode, as well as the fitting accuracy with the mold cavity.
Material selection
1.Mold steel selection: Choose the appropriate mold steel material based on the production batch of the junction box, the characteristics of the plastic material, and the requirements for the use of the mold. For junction box molds with large production batches, high-quality mold steels such as P20 and H13 can be selected, which have good wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and thermal stability.
2.Material quality testing: The purchased mold steel materials should undergo strict quality testing, including hardness, microstructure, chemical composition, etc., to ensure that the materials meet the design requirements and avoid early failure of the mold due to material quality issues.
